Digital Collage on Hahnemühle Torchon Fine Art Paper with 21 Karat Gold Leaf
Art size: 30 × 30cm (excluding frame)
Digital collage created with photographs of ordinary urban objects (like lampposts and rubbish bins) then hand embellished
About the art: Greater awareness allowed me to see and understand the many limiting beliefs I held about myself, which were driving my life without my knowing. Once I uncovered them, I chose, with conscious awareness and fierce determination, to question and reprogram my beliefs to create a new narrative for myself. Embedded within this piece is binary coding, which, when translated, reveals words of values and traits I have chosen to embody, guiding my new narrative. This coding represents the re-programming of previously limiting beliefs, originally programmed in childhood and then left to run on autopilot, leaving me little conscious control to create a life I truly wanted. The use of binary holds extra significance, as both my parents were among the world’s first computer programmers, using binary to program computers the size of buildings.
